Six professionals received honors for their excellent works and commendable service to their respective fields of profession in the 2023 edition of the Dungganon nga Barotacnon awards.
Recognized in a ceremony held at the Tamasak Arena on June 12 were Azkals Captain Chieffy Caligdong (sports), Dr. Bernadette Ticar (science and technology/medicine), Prometheus CEO and Daily Guardian VP External Lcid Crescent Fernandez, fashion designer John Lee Betita (culture and arts), and Mr. Jose and Mrs. Myrna Mondero (Dungganon Nga Ginikanan).
The Dungganon nga Barotacnon is an annual program that aims to give recognition to outstanding Barotacnons for their positive impact on their fellow Barotacnons.
During the awarding ceremony which coincided with the 125th Philippine Independence Day, Barotac Nuevo Mayor Bryant Paul “BP” Biron said to take inspiration from Filipino heroes’ efforts so that they can fuel meaningful and lasting changes in the country.
“In our own sphere of influence and no matter what role we take in our community, let us work together to ensure that our people live in a secure, stable, and peaceful society,” he added.
The Junior Chamber International (JCI) Barotac Nuevo Tamasak, which holds the awards with the Barotac Nuevo LGU, said this year’s awardees have become a “motivation and inspiration through outstanding dedication and accomplishments” to their “fellow kasimanwas toward achieving professional goals and achievements.”
