Senate President Franklin M. Drilon attributed the development of Iloilo City to the support of President Benigno Aquino III and former Interior and Local Government Secretary Mar Roxas.
In his message on Sunday’s Dinagyang Festival, the Ilonggo senator expressed that the landscape of the city and province of Iloilo was very different five years ago.
“Today as we celebrate Dinagyang Festival, we showcase not only to the country but to the entire world how far we have gone here in the city and province of Iloilo. More are sure to come in the next years,” he said.
He urged the people to continue what has been done in the past five years and remain united in political leadership to further move Iloilo forward.

Drilon, on Friday, inaugurated the city’s newest bridge located at the Muelle Loney area amounting to Php180 million.
The project was a big help as it serves as alternative route for vehicles plying the Lapuz area leading to the new ferry terminal.
He also said that the DPWH has already asked Korean government to fund the feasibility study of Iloilo-Guimaras bridge.
Iloilo City is also a recipient of billion-peso vertical and horizontal infrastructure projects. [via PNA | Photo: UNTV News]
