Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) has inaugurated on Friday, January 22, the P180 million bridge connecting Muelle Loney and Lapuz.
The Muelle Loney Bridge, which crosses the Iloilo River and connects the City Proper to Progresso, Lapuz where the new Iloilo Ferry Terminal is located, makes the port accessible and helps decongest the traffic in the area.
Senator Franklin Drilon, Mayor Jed Patrick E. Mabilog and DPWH Secretary Rogelio Singson led the inauguration ceremony.
The two-lane 125 linear meters prestressed concrete girder bridge is complemented by a 157-meter promenade at the Lapuz side and another 536.6 meter Esplanade at the Muelle Loney side.
The bridge is part of rehabilitation projects of DPWH and Senator Franklin Drilon for the Iloilo River. [via PNA; Photo credits: RMN Iloilo]
