There are four additional confirmed cases of Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) in the municipality of Lambunao, according to Department of Health (DOH).
In a COVID-19 Case Bulletin #6 issued on Friday, DOH Center for Health Development in Western Visayas reported that as of 5 P.M. of April 3, the region has five new cases bringing the total to 30 patients confirmed with COVID-19.
Four of these additional patients came from Lambunao, and all had close contact with the town’s first case labeled as WV #16 (PH #1199). They are WV #27, a 39-year-old female, 41-year-old male, 70-year-old female, and 48-year-old female.
All of them are asymptomatic and under home quarantine.
The other new patient (WV #26) is a 48-year-old male from Bacolod City who had a travel history in Los Angeles, USA and Manila.
Iloilo Province now has the most number of COVID-19 cases at 11, followed by Bacolod City at 7, Aklan with 5, Iloilo City and Capiz with 3 each, Negros Occidental with 1 case. Guimaras and Antique is still Covid-free.
DOH also reported that the Western Visayas has its first recovery, the 61-year-old female from Iloilo City who were admitted at The Medical City Iloilo. She is WV #3 and PH #574.
“Today marks another milestone not only to The Medical City Iloilo, but also to the rest of the Ilonggo community,” said Dr. Felix Ray Villa, CEO of The Medical City Iloilo.
“The first COVID-19 survivor of Panay Island has already been discharged from our facility. The patient was tested NEGATIVE for COVID-19 and has now completely recovered from the said disease,” Villa said.
