No need to leave your homes and spent hours on queue to pay for your passport as Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) now allows online payment.
In an advisory posted via its Facebook page, The Office of Consular Affairs of DFA announced that passport applications can now be processed and paid online using credit and debit cards as part of the agency’s ‘new normal’ policies.
The DFA has partnered with PayMaya Philippines Inc. which allows more payment options for the transacting public. Passport applicants who secure an online appointment may now choose to pay online through their debit card or credit card.
Previously, passport applicants who secured an online appointment could only pay for their passport application through over-the-counter payments. This required leaving their homes and going to the nearest accredited Bayad Center where they could pay for their passport application. This new system of paying through credit and debit cards offers faster and real-time payment without having to leave the safety of their own homes.
Those who wish to apply for or renew their passports may secure an appointment by visiting http://passport.gov.ph.
The public may now also opt to have their passports delivered using DFA’s Passport Online Appointment System.
“While applicants still have the option to pick up their passport at the Consular Office where they made their application, the department strongly recommends that applicants avail of the courier service to avoid exposure and health risks in light of the pandemic,” DFA said in a statement.
