The Department of Education (DepEd) in Iloilo has announced the cancellation of completion and graduation ceremonies due to the threat of Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19). Here’s the latest advisory:
“DepEd Iloilo shall forgo the conduct of Completion/Graduation Ceremonies this SY 2019-2020 complying with Executive Order No. 028-B of Governor Arthur R. Defensor, Jr.
Distribution of Certificates/Diplomas shall be held in the classrooms involving the learners, class adviser and the school principal ONLY.
All learners shall report to school until March 20 ONLY to take the exams and finish other school requirements. Any further school requirements should be home-based assignments. Financial clearances for learners IS NOT ALLOWED.
Teachers shall report to school until the last school day observing applicable COVID-19 precautions.”
