There will be no more Civil Service Exams this March 2020 as it has been canceled by Civil Service Commission.
CSC announced that the suspension of Career Service Examination-Pen and Paper Test (CSE-PPT) scheduled on March 15, 2020 is in compliance to Proclamation No. 922 signed by President Rodrigo Roa Duterte declaring a State of Public Health Emergency throughout the Philippines. The Proclamation calls for the implementation of urgent, critical measures to contain the spread of Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19).
The CS exams was supposed to be held in 66 testing locations nationwide with an estimated total of 293,845 individuals nationwide registered to take the test. Of the figure, an estimated 253,419 will take the Professional Level of exam while an estimated 40,426 will attempt to hurdle the Subprofessional Level.
No date yet when will be the next schedule, but the second batch is set on August 9, 2020.
CSC explained that the suspension of CSE-PPT nationwide is a preemptive health measure to mitigate the rise in the number of COVID-19 cases and to support the national and local government units in undertaking appropriate response and measures in a timely manner to curtail and eliminate the threat of the disease.
Civil Service Exam or CSE-PPT is a general ability test designed to measure an individual’s preparedness to enter government service. Passing the CSE would result in the conferment of either Professional or Subprofessional eligibility that is needed, among others, for permanent appointment to corresponding career service positions in the government except those that involve the practice of the profession or are covered by special laws.
