Mayor Jed Mabilog on I Am Iloilo movement
In celebration of the 76th Charter Day of our beloved Iloilo City, we launch #IamIloilo Proud to be Ilonggo. A movement that will involve all of us Ilonggos wherever we may be. An interaction that will embody and strengthen the pride among us.
It is now one of the best years to say “I am proud to be Ilonggo”. This only shows that even a city that was once the second most important in the country next to Manila for centuries and up to decades before it was destroyed by the 2nd World War, fires, insurgencies and stagnation, we can still rise to be one of the country’s best.
The numerous international and national awards given to us does not only make-up of what Iloilo City is now but the signs of progress such as the coming in of investors giving our citizens a chance to earn for a better living and be leaders of their own endeavors are the real indicators that Ilonggos are happy and proud.
Let us join hands and be citizens who are helping to find solutions to the problems because the Government can’t do it alone.
Let us continue to show our motherland and the world that we are united as one, proud of our past and hardworking for our future.
Juan Vison, Juan Direction and Juan Action.
