Iloilo City council unanimously confirmed Roberto Divinagracia as head of the City Engineers Office (CEO), five days after he was appointed by Mayor Jed Patrick Mabilog.
Newly-minted City Engineer Divinagracia vowed to solve the city’s flooding problem after his confirmation by the Sangguniang Panlungsod during its session Wednesday.
Divinagracia said he wants to complete the comprehensive drainage plan the City government is planning to implement in the next three years.
The drainage master plan of the city is seen to cost more or less P3 billion.
A civil engineer by profession, Divinagracia replaced Karl Quimsing who is a mechanical engineer.
Divinagracia said he sacrificed his plan to run for city councilor next year by applying for the top CEO post.
Mabilog appointed Divinagracia after meeting the requirements set by the Personnel Selection Board of the City government.
Before his appointment, Divinagracia served as village chief of San Agustin, Iloilo City Proper and headed the Liga ng mga Barangay-Iloilo City.
