Mayor Jerry P. Trenas announced Thursday that he will allow the buses and vans previously using the Molo PUV Terminal to use the transport hub of Megaworld Iloilo Business Park in Mandurriao district.
Treñas said this during the media interview after visiting Iloilo City malls yesterday, which included a stop at Festive Walk Mall and the transport hub across it.
The city mayor revealed that the Vallacar Transit Inc., owner of Ceres buses, had asked for his permission to use the Megaworld hub after they were displaced from Molo Terminal in Brgy. San Pedro and transferred to Mohon Terminal in Arevalo.
“Ang Ceres gapangayo sa amon permiso, I will allow that. Ang mga vans, I will also allow that,” Treñas said.
Treñas added that the Megaworld transport hub is a ‘very good terminal’ as it is airconditioned, with enough comfort rooms, and separate departure and arrival areas.
Iloilo City Government ordered the closure of Molo Terminal on June 29 after violating various Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) Memorandum Circulars, and also to decongest the traffic in the area.
Megaworld transport terminal is currently housing point-to-point (P2P) buses going to Iloilo airport and vice versa.
