Ilonggo artists who are also healthcare professionals will be to telling their medical life stories through their works in an exhibit at SM City Iloilo starting Friday, August 3, 2018.
Dubbed as “ArtRhythmia: Art in the medical field,” the exhibit will feature artworks of health professionals who are members of Himbon Contemporary Ilonggo Artists Group. Artist reception will be at 6PM of the same date.
In ArtRhythmia, doctors/nurses-cum-artists have managed to integrate their seemingly polarized passions and skill sets. They are Gina Apostol, Krys Balmaceda, Kristoffer George Brasileno, Daryl Dalipe, Nescel Giabia, Carlo Juntado, Shiela Molato, Adhara Alcudia Sebuado, and Miguel Antonio Tronco.
Although varied in style, subject matter and choice of medium, they all credit their experience in the medical field as having shaped their perspective of the human condition. As artists, they recognize art’s capacity to lift the spirit beyond one’s circumstances.
Being constant witnesses to the ails and cures of the human body, and spirit, it became their shared goal to elevate healing into an art form and art into form of healing.
ArtRhythmia exhibit will run from August 3-31 at mall’s upper ground floor area, in front of BDO.
