Metrobank has announced the winners of 2014 Search for Outstanding Teachers, and two educators from Iloilo made it to the list of awardees.
Dr. Jesus C. Insilada of Alcarde Gustilo Memorial National High School in Calinog and Dr. Resurreccion B. Sadaba of the University of the Philippines-Visayas in Miag-ao were two of the ten winners this year, four each from elementary and high school competition and two in higher education.
According to Panay News, Dr. Insilada is a two-time winner of the prestigious Don Carlos Palanca Memorial Award for Literature while Dr. Sadaba is a newly conferred UP scientist and a faculty member of the UPV College of Arts and Sciences–Division of Biological Sciences.

- Sharon Rose P. Puyo of Cabadbaran South Central Elementary School SPED Center (Cabadbaran City, Agusan del Norte)
- Dr. Enerio E. Ebisa of Doña Juana Actub Luch Memorial Central School (Iligan City)
- Dr. Allan Moore S. Cabrillas of San Jose West Central School (San Jose City, Nueva Ecija)
Secondary:
- Dr. Juanito A. Merle of Talipan National High School (Pagbilao, Quezon)
- Dr. Jesus C. Insilada of Alcarde Gustilo Memorial National High School (Calinog, Iloilo)
- Dr. Matrose P. Galarion of Angeles City National High School (Angeles City)
- Dr. Noel V. Ibis of Vinzons Pilot High School (Vinzons, Camarines Norte)
Higher Education:
- Dr. Resurreccion B. Sadaba of the University of the Philippines-Visayas (Miag-ao, Iloilo)
- Dr. Teodora D. Balangcod of the University of the Philippines-Baguio (Baguio City)
Dr. Insilada, Dr. Sadaba and the rest of the 2014 Outstanding Teachers will be recognized by Metrobank Foundation in an awarding ceremony on September 5, 2014 as part of the company’s 52nd anniversary celebration.
Gold medallions, cash prize of Php 500,000, trophy and a plaque of recognition for their school will be handed out to the winners.
